Descripción:
This book is a delightful, easy to read, and well formatted review of injectable fillers in all situations. The material is quite complete and the photos are excellent.
The first chapter covers the types of injectable fillers but surprisingly misses autologous fat, which is one of the most commonly used, least expensive filler. The sixth chapter is on the complications of these different fillers but does not discuss the treatment of the variety of complications.
The second chapter discusses the selection of patients. Included is the dysmorphic patient, which the authors say to avoid. However, these are psychiatric patients and as a physician you should inform the patient that surgery is not the treatment for her problem and then refer the patient to the psychiatrist. There are excellent treatments available for these patients such as serotonin-reuptake inhibitors (SRIs) that include Prozac, Zoloft, Cipramil, and Aropax. There is also cognitive behavioral therapy….
