Worst indeed is that in many countries patients adopted “the cautious practice to wait until the situation was clarified”, with the result of a decline in the number of cases operated. Is there some reason for this unjustified prudence if seriously analyzed? What started as a deliberate attempt to attack a specialty has been converted into a classic snowball affecting a huge amount of persons, including patients, who for a long time abandoned an extraordinary operation looking for beauty parlor procedures like creams and cool bandages. Are there logical basis for this irrational fear?
