This was the one of the first cases of the Omicron variant found in the United States and it was confirmed on December 1st 2021. The index patient; the first patient who acquired this variant in the particular subpopulation; the United States was a 48-year-old, unvaccinated man who had a domestically acquired symptomatic SARs COV 2infection in November 2020 confirmed by RT-PCR.
