Gender Re-assignment and sex change surgery, have increased considerably in the new millennium. We are now seeing more and more cases of females and males, requesting conversion to males and females respectively. The requests for female to male conversion are more, as compared to male to female. There are various reasons for these conversions. Firstly, we must understand the difference between Gender Re-assignment Surgery & Sex Change Surgery. Gender Re-assignment Surgery, is carried out in individuals, who have external/internal organs ( which are not properly developed ), of one sex and visible form of another sex, while sex change surgery, is a willful conversion from one sex form to another. One thing about these patients is very unique and different from other cases; these patients are usually highly motivated for either gender re-assignment or willful conversion.
