SAF (store and forward) is forwarding digital images with medical information which is stored in medical storage unit of consulted specialist for later consultation. Fast, effective inexpensive and is more commonly used. Real-time Videoconferencing allows doctor and patient to interact via videoconferencing. It requires more expensive technology and training as well as time availability which serve as limiting factors. However, we can incorporate telesurgery as well. Hybrid methods use both SAF and Real time vide conferencing e.g. use of applications such as ClickDerm1.
