Due to the COVID‐19 pandemic, many hospitals had to stop or reduce elective surgery to cut off hospital‐acquired infections, greatly disturbing the normal function of plastic surgery clinics. According to the characteristics of this epidemic, so far, some preliminary countermeasures have been formulated, trying to find a way to maintain the function of the plastic clinics under the premise of reduced risk of infection of patients and doctors. Besides, plastic surgeons shall seek to play a more active role in countering this epidemic. Based on our experience of maintaining the functioning of the plastic clinic during this challenging time, hereby, some suggestions for clinical practice are provided. All doctors and nurses have participated in rounds of training in epidemic prevention and been kept noted with the progress of the prevention guidelines. Only those qualified after regular assessment and equipped with protective equipment can continue to work in their positions. In addition, the telemedicine model was used to replace the outpatient clinic or reduce the number of outpatients, where doctors could check the uploaded photos and some examination results of the patients, take the history, make a diagnosis, and give advice at length. Patients after surgery can also have follow‐ups. We also used telemedicine for multi‐center consultations, rounds, and case discussions.
