Scarless, closed approach Serdev sutureR techniques for augmentation and lifting of cheekbones were introduced in 1994. They use mobile muscle-cheek SMAS flap or fascial tube of buccal fat pad (also called Bichat’s fat pad) to elevate and fix it firstly into immobile stable zygoma periosteum and in selected cases to orbital rim periosteum or temporoparietal tendon insertion and underlying periosteum, or upper temporal line periosteum and temporal fascia.
