Norm is that “Cancer Cells Feed on Glucose only”, and if deprived of glucose, cancer cells starve. However, recent research points to the contrary. Cancer cells have the ability to adapt and when deprived of glucose, can take up alternative sources of metabolism like fatty acids, amino acids etc, just like normal cells. Some specific types of cancer respond favorably to certain types of food, for example, it has been suggested that prostate cancer responds favorably to a “High Protein No Carbohydrate Diet”.
