Experience is a hard teacher. One must learn from mistakes in order to become experienced. It would be better to learn from someone else’s mistakes and this requires attending conferences and reading the medical literature. Any mistake in cosmetic surgery might result in a complication and this might result in medical malpractice litigation. Every surgeon has probably made mistakes and has had complications since it is unavoidable but surgeons must be able to learn from his/her mistakes and not repeat them.
